Both the screen panels and the glass panels for this room were custom designed and fabricated.

Hi, I have designed for a new home on Cape Cod a screened porch similar to this, and we were trying to decide on white exterior windows or black- which would affect the screen color obviously throughout. Can you tell me if these are actual black screens or are they a normal clear or white with just an exaggerated black painted trim around? Many thanks- this looks gorgeous and makes me lean toward going black against the all white painted interior!

The custom made screen / glass frames were painted black. We like how it tends to be less obtrusive to the view outside.

How is the glass or screen fastened to the wood frame so they can be interchangeable?

There are two different sets of frames.

Yes, I understand that. But how are they attached to the frame/casing?

i love the room. do these window/screen systems keep the room warm enough to use in the winter months when it's very cold outside?

Thank you for your question. Because of it's carefully considered orientation (see graphic) the porch can be warm on a sunny winter day. The sun's rays come through the, south-facing, glass window panels and heat up the stone floor. We also included supplemental, in-floor radiant, heating to help take the edge off.
