Here is something strange!!

I was frustrated about my citrus trees, gardenias, and a few of my other plants not being as dark green a few weeks ago as they were when I had bought them..

Well since it has been cloudy, rainy, drizzly and stuck in the 60's for most of this month, they are as DARK green as they can get! 3 sunny days since June 1st and counting...

They are now loaded with flowers, fruit, and very vibrant..

Here's the strange thing..I havn't fed them since the start of this month, and the sun hasn't been out either!!

Guess plants are just very unpredictable no matter how much we think we know what they want or need...

the lack of sun may have darkened them as they are trying to more effectively gather energy. Also, didn't you say you added iron?

Yes...But only to a couple to see what would happen, before I would ever hit all of them. To be safe, to make sure..
Before I even had a chance to see the reults of the couple I did treat, ALL my plants have darkened up without the iron or being fertilized in the past three weeks along with the couple that did get iron...
I think your comment about the the lack of sun is dead on. Plenty of light or diffused sun in this case, but not direct hot sun.. Who knows.
Like I said, seems to me that the only one that has enjoyed FULL sun, has kept dark green leaves, and produced well is the grapefruit I have..lol
The leaves will probably lighten up once the hot sun blazes upon them. No worries now...Just nature taking its course..
Whatever it is, this is the fact....dark green, loads of blossoms, and fruit to all my plants without the everyday full hot sun, added fertilizers or iron for the past 3 weeks..;-)

Think I will find a way to give most my plants morning and late afternoon sun. My gardenias seems to like it too..

By the way, I hope you are well jag...Thanks for everything you have help me and us with..:-)

tn veggie gardener, as you requested..:-)

HERE IS THE END RESULT OF DAYS OF THIS.
    {{gwi:34730}}

15 OUT OF 19!! AND 3 MORE DAYS COMING STILL. No fertilizers nor iron on all these plants since the end of May...

All are planted in JUST the gritty mix and the 5.1.1. mix thanks to you know who..:-)
Also, if it hadn't been for these suggested mixes, I think I would of lost ALL my plants to rot....No plant could of handled all the cool cloudy rainy days for me around here, especially my plumerias...

    Speaking of dwarf lime....
This one gets dabbled sun under a tree, when the sun is out all summer. Fianlly, the green color of leaves I was aiming for.....

All I can say is, what will happen when the sun finally does comes out in full force and it hits the 90's..? lol

Beautifully awesome! =) Especially the first one...lol...seriously though, nice lookin' plants. My lime is about 2/3 the size of yours (one right above), so maybe i'll get one or two off it this year...haha...I doubt it. Anyways, thanks for sharing the pics...awesome plants, dude.
