peppers

Our pepper plants are currently in a room where we are keeping the temperature at about 75 F, with about 15 hrs of lighting a day. The rest of the house stays at 69. Is 69 F a reasonable temperature to raise them until they are moved outside? I was also wondering if this may help them adjust to the cooler evening temps early in the growing season.

Last year we experimented with using white sheets as a row cover of sorts on the days where the projected high was over 90 F. This proved helpful as compared to previous years when we did not. I was wondering if the sheets could be effectively used when the plants are first moved outside during the hardening process. Would the white sheets block enough of the sunlight to prevent them from getting burned? If so, it would be much easier to bring them in from the deck at night, as opposed to out in the yard somewhere.
