Why is the piano placed near the window area?

We were advised to keep our piano on an inner wall away from any temperature shifts in heat or cold as the piano will go out of tune as well as fade the wood over time. I do notice that in some of the room designs the pianos are place in locations where they will be damaged over time.

Thank you for bringing up this point! It is advised to not keep a piano too close to a window or door that you open frequently due to possible humidity changes. Keeping the instrument out of direct sunlight is ideal. However, if you must place your piano near a window because of design or acoustic decisions, it is wise to invest in a few window treatments to keep the most direct light away and ensure the lifetime of your instrument. Best!

That piano will cost $7000 to refinish. This was a bad idea.
