Because of a recent flood in my townhouse, I am replacing my hardwood floor on the first floor with a berber sisal-looking carpet. I've decided to also replace the carpet on my stairs with the same carpet. My problem is on the second floor is carpeted with a beige pile carpet. Any suggestions on how to transition the new carpet that will end on the landing at the top of the stairs and then there is a step up to the right to the second floor and the old carpet begins. I can't replace the carpet now and may even do a different flooring upstairs in the future but I can't swing it now.
