cold fram materials

We had a hard freeze the other day and it really did some damage to the garden.. I need to go ahead and star building the cold frame covers I was going to do this late fall...

Eventually, I plan to cover them in solex (unless the short term solution exceeds my expectations) but for now, I will use visqueen on the sides and corrugated polycarbonate panels for the tops...

What I need to know is which is preferable for the polycarbonate tops, clear or translucent white?...

The tall cold frames will be about 6 feet tall for plants like tomatoes and peppers and the like, and the short ones will be about 18" for cucumber, onions, carrots, and the like...
