I was given a 5 lb bag of it to try while at a bonsai convention in CHI. I used it to make a batch of succulent soil & couldn't see any difference between the plants I planted in it and the ones that were in a Turface mix. Use it - if the price is right & it's available. It's color is more gray/white than the reddish/tan of Turface.

It's marketed for use with livestock, so animal feed / farm supply stores are a good bet.

I buy it at the feed store. Be careful though, "Dry Stall" and "Stall Dry" are two different products.

Dry Stall is Volcanic Pumice, Turface is Calcined Clay,fired clay like terra cotta just ground up into particles. Most Tack and Feed Stores carry it.

I appreciate the help, but I'm beginning to think it's a regional thing. Shipping to Texas was an extra $38.20 on top of the $14.95 - So, finding a local distributor was becoming more important. However, there's no way you can actually contact Dry Stall. No website, no email, and the phone doesn't work. I was actually wanting it to put in my tomato bed. I wanted the volcanic pumice most of all. As this is a product sold in California, I suspect that there is no local distributor here. I thank all of you for your help.

The bag of Dry Stall that I have in my garage contains white material and claims to be calicined clay. What about Napa Auto Parts clay oil absorbent? It's supposed to work too:

i discoverd the information in reference to Dry Stall… and wanted to use it in mine run in shed for the horses… its very diff to locate in Virginia… located it in of course CA…yet shipping was over costly to ship 20-30 bags costed over $375.00 🥴…. still searching yet i have not been able to locate it on the east

coast…if anyone know of a location please let me know, Thanks
