It's kind of high off the ground...could it be deer?
If you think it's rabbits (or deer) - a fence is the best solution, IMHO.
Fences
One of the best ways to keep rabbits out of your garden is to use 2 to 3 foot chicken wire or any wire with 1 inch wide openings. The fence should be buried 3 to 6 inches below the soil surface. The bottom of the wire can be bent outward at a 90 degree angle away from the garden. This technique will prevent even the most tenacious of invaders from getting in your garden. Many rabbits will dig and crawl under the fence, if they can not jump over it. Some rabbits enter around garden gates or any openings where the fence is not secure or buried.

That's funny. I was telling my wife that yesterday, the fact I have only seen squirrels eating acorns before. There are multiple rabbits running around.

If you rule out deer, then it must be rabbits then. Squirrels are not vegetarians. They eat ripe fruits though.

If it were squirrels, they would be scratching around the plants and digging things up, or slashing into melons/fruits. I am getting to the point in my garden where I think the most efficient way to deal with both rabbits and squirrels is a pellet gun. Grrrr!

That is the next step if my screening doesn't cut it. My father has quite the arsenal of .177-.22 caliber air propelled weaponry! ;)

Funny enough, last Spring a mother rabbit set up her nursery just behind my clematis, 3 babies (stupid rabbit, it was not hidden at all and only a foot away from the path to the back yard that my dog walked numerous times a day) It was also only 10 feet or so from my veg patch, lots of lettuce and bok choy and peas etc to choose from. Not a nibble. She would leave them alone in the nest all day and be gone to some other yard, come back in the night to them but did put a paw in my raised beds. (only raised 6")
