Onion seeds will grow from a seed stalk from your onion. If you planted them from sets you might get some onion seeds. Onions typically flower their second year so you would not usually get them the first year. If you are looking for seed packets and cannot find them in store there are tons of stores online that sell them.

Even bush bens have pretty small stems. Wait and watch is the maxim here. If they truly are pole beans, they will send out LONG stems. Some bush beans start to look like they will do that, but remain bushy. Not sure if you have to do anything about them falling over. I suppose you could poke some branchy twigs in the ground among the beans to keep them off the dirt.

What else are you growing? Enjoy your garden. Best low-cost, satisfying hobby I can imagine. But, of course a gardener will say that!

Oh, thanks for the info. Truely, I am enjoying the garden, I'm pretty sure it's in my bones now...

My girfriend and I kinda went all out for out first time. We have 4 crook neck squash, 2 zukes, a few cukes, several tomatos and a variety of peppers; also onions, watermelon and cantalope.
Really loving the time in the garden, pretty sure it's about the best way to spend free time.
