Good question. Though I will say that bees don't matter if there are no flowers to pollinate. Tell us more about how and where you're growing them, what you've been (or not) feeding them. Details.

From what all the other Florida growers post over on the Growing Tomatoes forum here, this Florida growing season is over and your second growing season will start in Sept. So maybe your plants were just planted far too late.

Tomatoes only set fruit within a certain temperature range but since you don't have any blooms I would suspect it is a nutrient problem, usually excessive nitrogen.

You might want to do some reading over on the Tomatoes forum and over on the Florida Gardening forum here to find out when is the ideal planting time for your area - I think it is in February.

I am growing them in a raised bed garden with plenty of mulch , sun and water. I have given them miracle grow tomato food. They are 6 feet tall and very stringy. i am having trouble with the spotted fungus.I do have a few flower starts at the very top but they never really bloom they seem to more just fall off. Thank you so much for the responses, this is a great site.

The flowers fall off in hot weather which is sure what we're getting. When things cool off, they should start up. Probably too late for us up north.

Then you are experiencing what is called "Blossom Drop" which, like oldroser said, is common this time of year for all of us. I mentioned that tomatoes will only set fruit within a certain temperature range. See the FAQ below.

Also this comment They are 6 feet tall and very stringy usually indicates not enough sun exposure and too much nitrogen fertilizer. You may be way overfeeding them and since MG is so high in salts (one reason it isn't often recommended) the high salt content in your soil "might" be contributing to your problems.

But we still come back to the fact that this isn't tomato growing time in Florida. ;)
