Recommend Some Garlic?

I'm looking to start some garlic this fall, and I will admit that at this time I know little about garlic other than the basics that I've read online.

I'm looking for something with a rich flavor that isn't too overpowering, preferring something leaning more towards the sweet end of the spectrum than hot. I'd also like to grow something thats rather visually distinctive as well, if possible.

Looking through what Burpee has, I'm rather drawn towards the Ajo Rojo with it's red/burgundy cloves. Never seen colored garlic before, just the traditional creamy white/ivory/light tan stuff.

I'm also drawn to Transylvanian Garlic, simply for the fact it originated in Transylvania. I love Halloween, and the ability to actually whip out a braid of Transylvanian garlic is not to be understated for me. However, it is a hot garlic apparently.

Anyone have recommendations as to what I should try first?
