Question on the purple beans...how are they fresh?(taste) My oldest son HATES green beans, but was interested in the purple variety, and wanted them fresh. (I'm also doing wax beans for him too)

If you mean raw I didn't try them those had not been snaped 5 minutes and 5 minutes later they were in the pot they are an extremely good bean I got them at walmart they are walmart gardens royal burgundy they are a 53 day bean

I forgot the pumkin I am growing along side the garage and a volenteer squash or pumkin along the back of the garage

purple beans!!! i haven't heard of that, that sounds like such fun to grow... one of the reasons i garden is to add a little fun to our diet. i always grow the same things... tomatoes, cukes, squash, beans... etc., but i get tired of the same old thing so i like to switch it up a bit, last year i grew yellow tomatoes (they were ok, not grown this year though), next year i am gonna grow asian cukes, and climbing zucchini (zucchetta rampicante), i think i will add purple beans to that order!!! growing unusual things makes people think you are that much *better* of a gradener, like the color makes it harder to grow!! thanks. sarah

the purple beans are fun to grow. the plants are a pretty dark green with purple flowers and stems. unfortunately the beans turn green when you cook them. but they are still good!
