I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM,GO TO WALMART AND GET A BOTTLE OF SOAP SPRAY THEY SELL FOR VEGITABLES(ITS PURE SOAP AND WATER)IT WILL KILL THE BAD BUGS ON ALL THE PEPPERS AND NOT HURT A THING.ALL SAFE AND NATURAL,IT PROBABLY WONT DO MUCH TO REVERSE ANY DAMAGE FROM THE BUGS AT THIS POINT,THIS WILL ONLY HELP WHATS LEFT.

some of my pepper plants (sweet) get blossom end rot on the
first 3 to 5 bells but then the ber stops.i have 8 plants
in raised beds that i water every day because the mix
drains very fast,i use to water every 3 days but since
i started to water every day no more ber ?? best of luck.

BER appears when there is insufficient calcium in the soil or when plants canÂt move calcium to the enlarging fruit due to a lack of water.

Plants tend to "grow out of the problem". Calcium chloride may be sprayed on affected plants but this will not reverse existing damage.

You can reduce BER by:

 Adding calcitic or dolomitic lime in the fall to maintain proper pH.
 Mixing in a handful of ground limestone with your garden soil from each hole when transplanting.
 Mulching your plants to conserve soil moisture.
 Watering deeply and regularly.
 Avoiding high nitrogen fertilizers.
