As a new fruit tree owner I don't know how to deal with seemingly dead branches. I might have both a weather issue and a disease problem.

The 15 year old apricot lost one branch last winter and has another leafless branch trhis year. Sap is visible near the base of this branch but I see no holes or cracks. Wondering what I should do to prevent further loss and when this leafless branch should be removed

The white nectarine blossomed but one branch has since died. This tree is about three years old.

We had early blossoms on both trees followed by near/possibly freezing temperatures of short duration.
