I am still finding the anwer for my question. With futher reading I found two types of wolfberry:

- Wolfberry - Lycium barbarum
- Chinese Wolfberry - Lycium chinense

Rich Farmer Garden website mentions that Lycium barbarum leaves can be eaten like salad. None mentioned about large leave or small leave.

You may want to be a little careful where you plant your Goji. They can become quite unwieldy with branches going everywhere... I had to build a corral for mine! They also really want to tip root and spread, and look quite ugly/dead in winter. Mine was a nursery plant that is now in its 4th season. So far, I've only seen one little berry. Hopefully this year I'll actually get some berries and learn whether it was worth it or not.

I think I found the answer. GojiTrees.com replies on my question:

"The Goji used for leaves are mainly Lycium Chinense that grows in southern China. Leaves of Lycium barbarm are also edible. Actually there is a newly developed cultivar that is mainly used to produce leaves (it is a non-fruiting plant developed by crossing lycium barbarm, and a wild Goji variety). The leaves can be used to make tea , eaten raw or cooked as salad.
Goji can grow in GA, but it prefers to light soil, and dry condition. You can grow a couple of them to experiment, but generally GA is not the best place to grow Goji commercially."

Well.......I'm just starting with this (3rd year now), with 1 wolfberry (One Green World) & 4 goji (timpanogos).

All are growing well in zone 7. The wolfberry is somewhat larger, longer than the goji; the goji is sweeter.

I have heard they can almost be invasive - sure hope so.

hi there, this is an old post but i stumbled on it looking for the name of the nonfruiting cultivar. I grow both, and in Cantonese the variety grown only for leaves is pronounced something like Gau Gay Choy.
