I have just installed stacked Electrolux 50 series units and I am very happy with their performance. We have a relatively small laundry room and we were shocked at how big they were when they were delivered from the appliance store! (Yes, we did measure, but still a surprise) We decided to stack them to save some room for the sink and counter; it will look very similar to the photo in this post. The only challenge I find with the stacked units is that you lose the area on top of the machines, which is the obvious place to fold clothes! I do wish I had paid more attention to the final layout. I would have spent more time locating more compact units that could have gone side by side in my space. Another tip; the Electrolux units have a rear vent pipe; if you are venting to the right or left the units don't have a knock out like most machines do; you have to put an elbow on the rear vent; if you are in a corner, then you can't just go straight out the wall, because the structural corner framing is in the way; you have to offset it, which means you can't put the units flush with the wall (with the zig zag of the vent pipes). We'll have to put a narrow panel to the right of the machine to hide the hardware! Anyway, the photo above is an inspiration....thank you!
