I have front loaders, wonder if they can be stacked or not? I have a small laundry room and that would save a lot of "crowdiness"!

I believe that stacked washer and dryer units are built to be stacked (i.e. with designs that stabilize the top unit). So I don't think you can just stack free standing units to get this effect. But I'm not an expert, so I'll be interested to hear what others have to say.

I know at one time you could only get apartment size washer and dryers that stacked? Do you know if the stackable washers and dryers are now available in large size capacity too?

I have been considering stacking to redesign my laundry room and save space. I will be purchasing a new washer and dryer (I currently have a top load washer). My first place I shopped for washer and dryer told me all can stack you just have to buy the stack kit for your specific brand of appliance.

I'm not sure of the exact model they chose to use, but that is a Whirlpool Duet

They won't stack if the dials are on the back of the machine.

I have front loading LG's .... and have the stack kit ... And you must have the stack kit to 'stablize' the machines. I really like the LG's - highly recommend the front loaders overall ... and yes, stacking certainly saves space and is attractive. Just make certain you are tall enough to reach into the dryer!

You can stack most front loaders wit a $20-30 stacking kit. I just bought and stacked the largest LG front loaders and it saves more space. I would like to do something similar to this layout.

I'm an appliance sales spec. Most front units are stackable with the use of a stacking kit. It's also very important to make sure your units are properly leveled and that either (if possible) the dryer or washer door are reversed for continuity.
