don't sweat it....you live in a warm climate and something in terms of chill hours must have effected it. It is the only explanation to me since your trees are healthy.

I have seen pluots and apples have a 2nd flowering, best to pull them off. There are two late season apricots that I know of but they would produce fruit now not flower, so I am assuming it is a 2nd flowering.

I have 8 Apricot trees and all preparing to go dormant. I live between zones 7 and 8. You live in warm zone and your Apricot trees are not getting enough chill hours. Most Apricot trees require 500-700 chill hours.

Your member page does not show your location, but most of zone 9 gets enough chilling, unless you are near the coast. Apricots, because of their early bloom time,can not be expected to be a dependable bearer every year. Don't worry about your blooming now, it won't affect next years bloom. I've had apricot trees do this when they are heat or water stressed. They drop a lot of leaves then stop growing for about a month. Then when it starts cooling down or raining they put out growth and start blooming. It doesn't ever seem to affect the bloom the following spring.
