Where are you located? Can you show a more close up view of the leaf? Reminds me of Sourwood (Oxydendrum arboreum), especially based on the fall color.

Looks like rose family, maybe Prunus. Closer view, with bud and stem details visible in addition to those of leaves needed.

Just based on the picture, I'd guess Amelanchier (Serviceberry) or Aronia (Chokeberry). Both in the Rose family, as Bboy suggested. But that really is a guess, and you've probably got shrubs where you are that I'm not familiar with. A closer view of it would help a lot.

Thanks for the replies. I'm in SC, z8. I have the original picture I posted in a much larger size, along with 2 more pics of this shrub, but I had to downsize the pic to meet the 61kb size limit. I'm new at this, so I'm working to get the full size pics online & post a URL.

Ok, now it looks more like Persimmon, Diospyros virginiana.

The top two photos look like they show a different shrub from the bottom picture.
