Either gray and pink or black, white, gray and pink is a fun combination.

Agreed with the recommendation of grey tones and would expand that to suggest that you cover the wood cabinets/trims (I would paint them either white or black) and swap out the gold faucets and shower door for a silver/chrome look to fully change the scheme to cool colors. Hope that helps!

That said, if you're not a fan of that pink yourself, you may find it simpler to swap out the plumbing fixtures. Do you have a source of used plumbing fixtures (an architectural salvage business) nearby? (One example: http://store.rehouseny.com/plumbing-sink---bath-plumbing.html )

P.S. I think that dark plummy pink toilet is kind of fabulous. I know it probably wouldn't have been your first choice, but it could really look great in the right combination.

Embrace the pink go crisp whitewalls tiles floor with a hint of green accents. Green could be added in the window shade, knobs, shower curtain, towels.

Ageed! Hate the mint green! The house has light pink or the mint green and yucky wall paper everywhere! Ugh! However, it was a steal, has a pool, new carpeting throughout, tons of deck space outback, granite counter tops in the kitchen - a great room, living room, bar, built in fantastic office and so many other features! The good news is, I love to decorate and will be having a blast updating all the rooms with wonderful color! I like the pink and gray - the blue might be a bit much for my husband - I may have to do another room with that color scheme!

sinks won't be so bad with modernizing the rest. The bedroom just calls attention to how dated everthing is.

Here's a pretty bedroom with a restful blend of neutrals and pops of raspberry and lime green for a modern take on your pink and mint green color scheme. I think you can definitely work around those unusual berry hued bath fixtures with some fun accessories.

Yes, there really is so much you can do with "pink". I do very much like the color of the commode and sinks. Thank God they're not mauve! I don't know how much you wish to change but my feeling is the oak cabinetry and trim does not sit well with the (let's call it plum) pink you have. If you are willing to paint out or get new cabinets, then I also would do the surround on the glass block wall. Since all of your trim most likely is throughout the house, you can always keep the oak and possibly think in terms of painting the cabinet in the same hue as the 3 pink pieces, and replace the faux marble top in the sinks area. Then of course, you have the shower/bath area which is not pictured. I'm assuming they also carry a pink tile? I do very much also like the color suggestions by other Houzzers.

The mint green that was used in the house must go, but from the examples you can see that a true lime green, or even grey with a slight green tone (the gray with pink photos) is the perfect compliment to the plum fixtures. Just like natural garden colors: a beautiful rose plant or semi-wild country garden with lots of soothing green and bright spots of flower colors. You don't have to bring in floral theme, the colors alone give a calming and natural feeling.

I am not a lover of pink much of anything but you know what I actually love these dark pink sinks I think they are stunning looking. The gold needs to be replaced for sure, but that would mean the gold frame work around the shower as well. The green walls are a bit to much , Cant wait to see the after

I'm actually OK with the warmth of the gold. Soon as she changes everything out, brass will be back (though it will be a reinvented antiqued brass).

We might not have the money to switch out all of the gold anyway - so regardless it will have to wait. I think I can incorporate this into a Mediterranean style now. The couch from "vernaie's" pictures got me thinking about it. I think that might work well with the gold fixtures.

Take out the glass block. It makes it far too busy and for what purpose?? Paint the cabinets off white with glaze. Wall paper where the paint is and incorporate the pinks. There are some great designs out there.

I like the idea of painting the cabinets off white-perhaps stick to slightly warmer tones. Make the bathroom a rich creamy white with the pink. Will be soft and soothing-this will work with the fixtures and the countertop. Keep all accessories very pale and light (creamy towels etc) and a splash of the pink in some sort of accents like flowers(not too many-try japanese cherry blossoms) and perhaps some pretty pale pink candles. This has been alluded to throughout the earlier posts, using tasteful colors to offset the pink as in the photo for the first reply will create a more elegant, refined effect. Personally I love the way using silver and a deep nearly fuchsia pink against a lighter pink matures the lighter pink.. The fuchsia must be brought in very subtle-y and carefully. Incorporating swarovski type crystals inlaid in silver pieces nicely balances out the look, and using a cream base for the main palate (as much as possible given that we are talking about permanent fixtures like sinks and tile in pink) will blend and allow the other colors to be sharp and crisp. I would go dressy dressy dressy and dramatic to compensate for the easily silly pink. Nicole Miller has some nice metallic finishes in shower curtains, if you could find well done silk peony stems in the fuchsia and put them in an elegant silver vase that would make a nice accent piece in a bathroom, coordinate the colors in the art and use silver frames. There are gorgeous shimmery topcoat paints that create a subtle shimmery translucent look on the walls, that would help pull the eye away from the pink and towards the wall. Also mirrored things enhances the silver tones, like mirrored tissue boxes, mirrored perfume trays with a silver frame and string of pearls or bunched cream satin strewn beneath the tray's contents. Layering lush decorative towels and using lush window treatments will help a lot as well, and go dramatic with the shower mats.. have fun and congrats on the new home.

I just recently successfully covered a medium blue tub and sink with Homex, epoxy tub and tile paint. It took 3 coats to cover adequately, but I have used this product on tubs and found it quite durable. Follow the prep directions carefully. I would swap out the toliets they are not that expensive and paint the sinks. Definitely get rid of that block glass. Nothing is going to make that dark pink disappear or be less obvious. Everytime you walk in that bathroom, it's all you will see. I would also change out the gold fixtures for a more modern look.

Using a muted grey porcelain tile in the bathroom (same thing floors and walls) and changed the glass block to a modern frameless glass panel will help to make the space feel more contemporary. I like the idea of adding the Ikat pattern in cream and orange in your fabrics and towels, to play off the photo that Karen Paul interiors posted earlier. It looks like a really fun challenge!
