I dunno... I HATE vinca major... NOTHING kills that as far as I know... :o( maybe a nuclear bomb. I've never run into somone trying to keep it alive. :o)

I think it looks good around shrubs. Here's a picture of it where I kept up with the weeds as the vinca was filling in.

Round Up kills it. I sprayed a large area where horse tails had taken over. I haven't tried a nuke on horse tails, but I think that's what it might take to get rid of THOSE things!

It does look nice... and it has a redeeming factor of blooming very prettily. But here in my neck of the woods, it spreads underground like wildfire... It comes from my neighbor's UNWATERED garden/desert. :o) I would think, if you did kill it, it would come right back.

And I arrived here on a search trying to find out what may have killed my vinca! :-(

Note that jugglerguy has Vinca minor which keep closer to the ground and has smaller leaves then Vinca major. V major tends to put up longer arching growth which is less neat than V minor.
