The people that signed the purchase agreement, and all we still had to do was sign over the paperwork and them to hand over the check, and meanwhile they leased the house until that day, well, they decided they wanted to pay less, and we didn't, so they backed out. Middle of June.

We told them to move out by July 1st, because our only leftover single DD is getting married the end of July, and we want to be all settled back in the house in time for the west coast and overseas relatives. Oh, could we do them a favor and move the move-out day two more weeks? No.

So we're back! After a week of hauling things back out of storage and unpacking, the kitchen and the bedroom are under control, more or less, and I have mowed the lawn and done a bit of pruning and weeding. Once the shock wore off, we've been all excited and happy to be back in our old house. It's like spending more time with a beloved old friend that you had given up on.

Of course, building the new little house has been put off indefinitely...
