I aerated and slit seeded on September 19, with a Lesco Fescu-Rye-KBG mix(Team Mates Plus). I have mowed twice since then.

Nice thick lawn, but I am getting some broad leaf weeds (plantain, dandelions) and also have continuing problem with ground ivy. I would normally spot spray for weed control in the mid-fall (never blanket application), but have been leery of applying any herbicide for fear of killing new seedlings.

But this web site suggests that broad leaf herbicides can be effective even well into November, and right after first hard frost.

In that case my seedlings should be mature enough to apply herbicides.

What do others here think of spot weed control so late in fall after an early fall seeding?
