Thanks, crafting24! I planted this bed out in September and it's been producing well. We haven't had enough chill yet for the 'Red Russian' kale to be at its absolute best, but it's been very good just the same. 'Lucullus' Swiss chard has become a must grow green for me every Fall/Winter. We love our fresh greens! :)

Here's a second bed that I planted out a few weeks after the first bed. The 'Napa' cabbages are being ravaged by earwigs and caterpillars, they'll most likely go to the compost pile soon.

I guess it's pretty nice to live in SoCalâ¦

pnbrown, with a little planning I am able to harvest fresh fruit and veg every day of the year. Most people over look the fact that Fall is the best season for planting a garden here.

Here's the third bed, onion, spinach, kale, arugula and Swiss chard. The rain has been kicking everything into high gear.
