Your house is similar to a lake house we just purchased. We are going to copy the Restoration Hardware Slate interior color on the outside with white trim and a yellow front door. It's a bold look that pops but still classic. I think this would look great on yours too. I'd pull off the shutters, re-do landscaping and plant a tree to the right of the door to break up the extra blank space you have there. Good luck on whatever you decide!

I like the looks of a red house with white trim, shutters, door. White wrought iron railings for safety on the steps.

I'd get more of those nice rocks and outline the front landscape with them.

HI -- I think the house needs the front gable end roof built out and a veranda/porch added to that front section with a railing .The front window on the right could be enlarged , but the shutters need to be bigger. I like the white siding and all you need to do is put a great color on the door or the shutters. A bigger light fixture by the door and maybe some window boxes on the left side. But I truly think the porch is what the house needs.

If in the budget ad a decorative window for the top of the house or raise the ceiling in the room below to add height and the window can be used as a skylight and for the walkway a simple way to add personality is staining the side walk and steps and or driveway and add a small circle patio and place a small dinette set but whatever you do look for your local area rules by the city and see what you can or can not do these things can help your resale value but the most simple thing would be to add colorfull flowers

from a landscaping point of view....The stairs could use an update of any kind, maybe something more curved with stone and maybe some railing too. The big space between the front door and the large window could be beautified with a decorative tree. I would also make sure to plant some bushes that cover the grey foundation of the house. I think all of these ideas would highlight the already great personality of the home.
