Very cool! Do you have any bipinnately compound foliage plants around that it would have come from? It looks so familiar and yet I can't place it: probably because it's white! Aralia probably isn't right but I have to guess something. It actually looks kind of apiaceae to me.

Albino plants lack chlorophyll and chlorophyll is absolutely necessary for photosynthesis. If a plant can't photosynthesize successfully, it is unable to covert carbon dioxide and sunlight into oxygen and necessary sugars and it will die. Sooner rather than later, unfortunately.

Abinism can persist in Some parasitic or mycotrophic anomalies: for instance, Epipactis can emerge albino for many years, although I don't know about long term survivability... Unless this happens to be a runner off of a larger plant, I must agree that this is another "terminal white".

Dunno what it is species-wise.... But how awesome!!! Just hadda say that ;) I agree, though, that it's not likely to survive for long as it's not a mushroom or fungus, etc., that doesn't need chlorophyll to survive. Still, really awesome!

Thanks!!! Can you find any information on how these grow with albanism? I have looked it up but can’t find anything. The plant seems healthy enough and is blooming new leaves (also all white).

Is the variegated plant a part of the green plant? The white parts of a variegated plant can photosynthesis, but not as well as the green parts. If this white variegated plant grew from the green plant it can still get energy from the mother plant. The white color is variegation, and the plant is not albino.

Kaylei, the albino part can only stay alive while attached to regular green parts because the albino part can't photosynthesize sufficiently to sustain itself.

(In the first picture, the texture of the stem looked so soft to me, which it isn't. I mean soft in a velvety sort of way.)

Looks exactly like a Chinaberry seedling to me as well. Weird about the albinism.

I found a similar plant on a hike yesterday and found this thread when I was looking for info. It's so magical! 🤍🪄
