James Galway is pretty, indeed quite unique bloom look. Lavender lassie is pretty too, I love that dense effect with the roses, although it takes a couple of years.

Really pretty, Krista. I'll bet the fragrance is wonderful, there. The petal shape on the JGalway is unique. I like the paler outer petals with the darker interior. Gean

so charming!

I love the pink of the roses against the lush green background. Your roses always look so perfect, Krista.

Ingrid

Beautiful. I love James Galway. They bloom under the trees?
Renee

Thank you, everyone, for the kind words.

Renee, the tree branches don't extend too far out from the tree at that location... The trees are north of the roses, so with the angle of the sun, the shade is just out of the way of the roses. They get a touch of shade from the tree, but not much. The garage out of view does give shade however, in late afternoon.

What a beautiful peaceful garden, Krista! It is amazing that you are able to grow such happy roses with so much tree root competition.

Masha

What a lovely corner of your garden. It looks so peaceful with all those lovely pink blooms that you love so much---

the leaves look very healthy and green.

Florence

Krista, I can understand why you like this portion, it's so pretty. What kind of trees are they? Lovely colors in your photos.

Carla

gorgeous! so are you growing lavender lassie as a shrub?

Thank you, Carla. The trees near the roses are hemlocks. There is a pine tree at the back of the yard, and a blue spruce. In the upper right corner of the first pic, one can see some hemlock branches.

Aimeekitty, thank you. Yes, I'm primarily growing LL as a freestanding shrub, but am having to use a
mini trellis to help support it, on one side. The mini trellis seems to do OK, however this rose is quite vigorous. I prune it back a lot to keep it under control.
