Lumber sizing

On the portico entry what size are the posts and carry beams? I would guess 10"x10" on the posts and 4"x6" on the carry beams.

    Hello. The posts are 12 x 12 and the curved truss tie is cut from an 8x10. The king post is an 8x8. All the timbers are Douglas fir with a light brown stain and UV protection. - Chuck Smith, R. A.

    Try Watco Danish Oil, a linseed oil based finish that can be purchased in pre-mixed colors. The UV protection is part of the mix.
