I have a beautiful purplish black fantail mutt. At the time I had fantail koi and reg. fin goldfish and this fish doesn't have the "whiskers" of a koi but does have the fantail. It is sterile from everything I have read about the "mutts".

I think she may be talking about butterfly or long fined Koi and you are talking about fan tailed or a double tail on gold fish. I don't think a fan tailed Koi exists. IMO

Hmmmm! I have the long finned koi and the Shubukin GF. Thought it might be interesting to have a koi like that but ... the GF do struggle more to swim with the fanned tail..
