Can you pls help me identify this critter?

Hi! I have a bunch of these critters in my lotus container. Every year, I overwinter my lotus in the garage by keeping it damp, then bring it outside when the weather warms up. I guess this thing lays eggs and always make a come back in spring. I'm curious what it is. It moves very fast, tan color and looks like a small bean.

I'm not sure what you're referring to......maybe all those little white bugs? I have trillions of them in my pond! I believe they're water lice. They don't seem to present any problems. Live and let live. :)

Yea, those small bugs/critters, if you look closely in the pic, lots of them feeding on the leaves. I have no prob with them, I just to know what they are and if they are safe to be fed to my aquarium fish :)

Hmm....I googled water lice but didn't see any image looked like it.

small fish eat them
The will just appear in water with dirt or mud
I dont know what their called though

I think they look like water daphnia. They eat algae and the fish eat them. : )
