What on earth is going on with the dates? Suddenly a reply to a post from 2013?

It looks like blakrab has been checking historic posts, and found one that lacked a reply. I was glad when saltcedar found a job in his area of expertise, but sure miss his input.

^ Ya, after my most recent field trip, I was searching my old posts for some wildflowers I had seen before...and just added a confirmation reply here while I was at it. :)

I have a plant I can't identify. It's a very tall 5 to 6 foot tall and has a purple flowers clustered on top that's flat on top.

Can you help me?

Can you post a photo in a new thread instead of on this old one? Where is your geographical location? You can look up Eupatorium maculatum to see if that looks like your plant. I would not say the flowers are purple .... but it's tall with dome shaped flowers
