I don't like the look of the wood tile being adjacent to the real hardwood as they will look mismatched and not work for a good visual flow. I would have advised to extend the hardwoods from the adjacent den into the kitchen to keep that open concept working and make the entire space feel larger and flow better. A big mistake I see often is too many flooring changes in too small of a space. The best designs have a good sense of flow by limiting the materials and repeating elements.
