Penelope Hobhouse used it in a lot of her designs so I fell in love with it but I have never seen it in the U.S. in gardens or offered for sale. I thought about ordering seed but its reputation for aggressiveness made me think there is probably a good reason it isn't grown here. And actually when I was in England I didn't see it in any gardens so maybe it has fallen out of favor there too.

Actually, I did find Joy Creek Nursery have it offered for sale, as well as Dancing Oaks and Forestfarm. That is what I am interested in learning too- if they run at all. Most sites say the 'Lady Wilson' does not, but you never know.

Guess I will just have to read around more and see if I can't find more info.

I recently saw it and had to have it. I found it at Secret Gardens. In the garden I saw it, it does not run. was quite tall. At least 4 feet and just as wide. Gorgeous plant. She said it blooms a very long time.
