Their saws used to have a few differences years back anyhow- such as a chrome cylinder. If it is a limited use item it likely doesn't matter./

tom's got it, normally the biggest difference is chrome cylinder and a better chamfer on the ports making for longer engine life. However, if you keep a Poulan (or Poulan Pro) tuned properly and keep up on maintenance, either one will suit you fine.

I bought the Poulan Pro pruner. It is a model P446T. Lowes had lowered the price to $161.00 from $199.00 so I snached it. Looks kind of cheap, but I think it will get the job done. BTW, the pruner was being replaced by a newer model, a PP258T. Funny thing was that the new model has a smaller engine 25cc vs 31cc on the P446T which I bought.

Make sure to tune it. The biggest issue with 2 stroke stuff from Poulan is it comes way lean from the factory causing hard starting after it get's worn in as well as shortening engine life significantly. You will probably have to clip some nubs or pull the caps off the screws to adjust them. If you don't know how to tune a carb, have someone who does know how do it for you. You'll want to retune after running it for 10-15 hours (due to break in period).
