I have several B&S motors on my tillers and mowers that are over 30 years old and still running perfectly.

Honda must be good motors too but it seems to me that the choice of motor manufacturer would not be my first priority when buying a new tool.

Two of the most important things to consider with a pressure washer are its engine and its pump. Some of the best pumps are made by Cat - but cost major $$ and are often outfitted on industrial units. Honda makes an excellant small engine - quiet, powerful and durable. And the PSI you're mentioning is more than sufficient for typical around the house chores.

I bought one os those 2500 Excell pressure washers w/Honda motor from HD for $425. I've had it for close to 4 years and it's still kicking right along. The water pump on it is made by DeVilbiss and works just fine. I use it every year to clean the house, driveway, walkways, patio, etc. For me it was a good choice. Take care of it and it will last.

I bought the Excell XR2600, with the Honda 5.0hp engine. For about $425, about two years ago, from HD. I've only used it 4 or 5 times. Now I can't get it to start. I'm decently mechanicly inclined, but I just can't get it to start. I've already tried everything I know, except to replace major parts. My wife has tried to convence me to go buy another one. Don't want to pay the money.

You may have a siezed pump or engine bearing. Remove the pump and then try to pull the recoil.
