The Troy-Bilt electric looks like a good electric tiller. There are several competitors on the Amazon site, including the Mantis electric. The Mantis claims advantages from their serpentine tines and the ability to till to a depth of 10 inches, as compared to 8 inches for the Troy-Bilt.

I have never used an electric powered tiller, so I can't claim any hands-on experience. I prefer to use my Honda-powered Merry Tiller, which is in a much higher price class than the small tillers. Hopefully someone with hands-on experience can leave their comments here.

Get the Mantis!!! They are not much more and Mantis have a lot of tine option which is the most important. I use the dethatch tine and it work so well. People are amazed how nice the lawn looked right after dethatching instead have to wait for weeks for the lawn to grow back with the big dethatchers.

This is kind of stuff you buy ones a life time, don't save $60 and get something that might not have good attachments and not popular at all. Troy Bilt is really second teer stuff where Mantis is true commercial.

Buy direct from Mantis, they have very good customer support and warrante, take this from my word, they don't give you hassel like going to the dealers when your thing breaks!!! They do not give you the same service if you buy at Amazon or dealer. Their service is incredible!!! One time the gear box jam after 1/2 a year, I called them, they just ship me the gear box in 5 days, and aranged to pick up the old one few days later.....all free!!! No question asked!!! Try this with a dealer, they will give you all the lame excuse why it's your fault and try to get money from you!!!
