Check the rpm on both before doing anything else. They should rev to 3750 no load. If you don't have a tach, surely you have a multimeter. Set it to the hertz scale and plug into the recepticle. No load hertz will read approx 61.5 hertz.

If the 1850 needs setting test for the breaker failure after setting. If it still pops the breaker is probably bad and needing replcement.

If the 2200 reads really low, setting to 61.5 hertz may correct. If not, next step is to flash the rotor. The rotor carries a small residual magnatism which sets the charge system into motion. Jarring or setting a long time can cause the magnatism to go away and flashing will restore it.

Many Colemans have a rectangular plate on the gen side end cover. The plate [plastic] has nips on the side which can be pressed inward to release. Behind are two metal tabs. Hopefully they are identified as plus and minus, otherwise you'll need to get a schematic from Coleman. You need to know which is which. Flashing is simply a matter of running jumpers from a good 12 volt battery and touching those tabs for just a second while engine is running. Flash them backwards however will smoke the rotor.
