I just spaded my garden and raked the beds smooth. :) it was nice to see the first live worms of the season, even though there were slow wigglers.
Peas and spinach are going in this afternoon if I don't run out of energy.

It was almost 50 here today. I grabbed a t shirt, threw on my rubber boots, and started tilling. So nice to feel warm...

Iowa: greetings from north-central KS! I heard recently that you have had a real doozy of a winter. Much to my suprise, spring suddenly started about a week ago and it is now deep mud season. At least you have that to look forward to if you live in the country like me ;-) We aren't out of the woods yet by far, the average low is still 25 deg and the record low for today is -8 deg. (1920). Very soon the peach tree will have swelling buds, the geese have been flying north en masse over us for about a week now and the tulips are just starting to poke up. The spring of 2008 wiped out all the fruit buds with a 3 day freeze, you probably got nailed by that one too.
