Flexibly. Things will change. I don't have an HFGH, but it's all the same principals when the space is finite. I have beds in the dirt floor, sometimes wishing I'd gone more "portable," as I'm stuck with these unless I wish to dig out all the soil. The layout is alright, a sort of "EI" arrangement (seen from above), but being able to move plants and shelves about would be a plus.

Might be easier for you in zone 6 but I have to bring peppers indoors to overwinter here, zone 4.5.

I made a computer drawing of the space and drew in the beds. I printed a few out and could sketch in where I felt like planting things. That also made a quick reference later for which varieties were which.

Here is a photo of my shelving inside my HFGH. This gives me max. space for seed flats. The shelves are removeable, so I can lift out the white shelving and set plants on the second shelf for tall plants in the summer. My tomatoes are now on the bottom shelf with the two top shelves removed. I also drilled small holes along the center beam and run wire for vines to grow along the ceiling.

I am in the same sort of dillema here..do i want portable shelving or fixed inside? The fixed looks nice but i wonder in a small space would it be ok..
