Yeah, I lost my Deere STX38 to my wife years ago. Had to buy myself another machine. Blue bonnets are popping out in north TX. Time for a slew of posts from folks who left untreated gasoline in their machines last autumn and now wonder why the engines won't start.

OP: I left gas in my JD through the winter and ran the battery down trying to start it. I took the battery back to the garage and placed it on the charger. Since I was having a problem with it last summer, I had decided to get a new batter the next time we went into town.

A couple of days later, I went out into the garage saw that I had left it on the charge and decided to give it one more chance.

I took it out put, it in the tractor, looked down and saw the lever was in the "run" position (NOTE RUN). I moved it to "start" and it started right up.
