This mist kit works fairly well in my GH, especially for the price. Since it is low pressure, the mist is not particularily fine, but works for me. It installs easily with the supplied parts. I added a solenoid valve, line filter and irrigation timer so it is automatic now.
The mist heads need regular cleaning, even with a line filter. I use a safety pin to clean the heads several times a year. After several years, the misters need to be replaced since the hole size becomes too large for misting.

The lower the humidity the more effective they are.

It would be much more cost effective to purchase your supplies from a home improvement store and build your own system. We ran 1/2 in poly pipe down our purlins, held in place with zip ties. There are 1/4 inch pipes coming down from the 1/2 inch pipes. There are small button misters on the end of the 1/4 inch pipes.

A rough guestimate on total cost: $100. The system is easily expandable and highly adaptable. If you want more information or have any questions, let me know.

Thanks for the replies

snarg - I like this idea. what are the small button misters you used?

alan_davis,

We use these for our foggers: http://www.digcorp.com/homeowner-irrigation-products/mister-on-threaded-barb

They cost approx. $2 for a bag of four at Home Depot.

Also try getting a 200 mesh filter instead of a 150 and the misters won't clog as easily. Brady
