I also had varying degrees of success with OFF.
It depended on the weather mostly. If it was hot and damp out the more Mosquito's I had to repel. If it was cool and dry then I had less Mosquito's to repel.

Now those No See'ems or flying teeth (which ever you prefer) were worse than dealing with the Mosquito's.

If you got two years use out of one of those Mosquito Magnet gimicks with varying degrees of success. Count yourself blessed.

I have had my mosquito magnet now for quite some time.
I have had it break down on me a couple times and I'll tell you, they are near impossible to work on. After a lot of time and effort though I was able to FINALLY find a company to repair these units, as the manufacturer will not.

Rusty you are soposed to place the magnet away from your house so that they go towards it. Mosquito Magnet has a diagram to help you position it ... it really helped me

I think Rusty was just kidding us. But I agree, you are supposed to place the Mosquito Magnet between the upwind current source of mosquitoes and your living/working area.

For that reason, you need to re-position the Mosquito Magnet when the wind changes direction. The need to re-position frequently means that the models that require an electric cord connection are less convenient to use.

I suppose if you could afford to buy several Mosquito Magnets, you could position them for your common wind directions and not have to move them around. But the price of just one Mosquito Magnet puts it out-of-budget for many people.

I have had the traps for several years. In Alaska we have a real problem with the bugs. The main problem we have is the fan get clogged with body parts till it stalls. the way I have found to clean it is to get a thin knife and scrape the fan blades and the fan frame to get the crud off. at this time I have a unit that has a fault .I think it is a propane gas that is dirty . I have found that the co2 isn't working blowing the nozzel clean. has any body taken the heater block apart? I tried to remove the input control from the heat chamber trying to find the nozzel, sure could use some help. there is a repair co. in the state but they are over 300 miles away and the cost of shipping a unit is almost the priceo fthe unit.

Replace the propane nozzle with a 2 gallon per hour nozzle. Not enough propane gets through with the 1.5 GPH nozzle it comes with.
