The position of the swing was entirely the homeowner's choice, and by all reports he is very pleased with it. While the swing is too low to break any glass, it would bump the house hanging so close to the wall. Our other customers have hung the swings further away from interfering walls. Also, swings hung from the corners like this move like a glider.

I believe you have mistaken this hanging day BED as a swing. Hanging beds were quite common in the South and are very much enjoyed in modern days by those who have them. I have friends that built a screened room off their master just to hold a custom hanging day bed on the bayou side of their home and other friends that have one on their screened porch at the lake. Very peaceful way to sleep and I LOVE ths design with the worn sides.
