The worm gear transmission on the older FG100 is apparently not at strong as the worm gear transmission on the FG110, because a lot of FG100s have had transmission problems. You might want to contact Honda or your local Honda dealer to see if your FG100 can be fitted with the FG110's worm gear assembly. It is probably a heavier duty design.

The FG110 has a smaller engine. Who knows if they even touched the tranny.

Did anyone find out if the FG110 transmission will fit on a FG100? (My local dealer says he doesn't know, but hsa lots of dead FG100s and no FG110s!)

Also, is the current tranny and/or Hoffco tranny parts for the older FG100 available from Petes (or ?) beefed up or not, compared to the original parts?

This will be #3 for me and it's getting old....

Virginia, I talked to the service rep at Hoffco and she told me that they had made a material change to the gear to address the failures. I elected to order the complete transmission from Pete's and its all back together now and working. I am going to keep a eye on the grease in it and fill it with the grease I also got from Pete's. They are very prompt on their deliveries....Fred

i kn this was years ago but just to be clear you ordered a fg110 trannsmission and put it on your fg100 and it worked ?
