Fix for the Easy Blocks

I purchased the Easy Lift Blocks from Northern Tool and was completely dissatisfied with them. As a matter of fact they did not even begin to work. I called them with the intent of sending them back and they told me just to discard them and I would get a full refund. Well, I figured that if I was going to throw them out I'd have a little fun trying to engineer a fix. I attached boards to the bottom of them, added a hinged board that the tires would ride up on and then tried a 5 gal. bucket bail hoping it would hold onto the back side of the tire and keep the blocks from slipping. No luck with any of that. What finally worked was cutting 4 strips of thick black plastic material making two dagger-like points on each and bolting these to the ramp-up area of the blocks. Works perfectly on dirt or grass. I use a floor jack on the drive or in the shop but need to clean the bottom of the deck out in the field and this works fine. They are not as good as a $200 lifting device but even with mods they seem worth $20.
