Squirt a bit of fuel into the carb throat and see if it fires. Unless the saw is a very old model with points it will either spark or not spark. CDI does not fail gradually.

If probably had weak spark before you changed the fuel lines. I agree It an't getting gas yet. As suggested for canguy prime it, but I would use carb. cleaner IMO it's much safer, you have better control over the fluid, and a side benifit of cleaning while your priming. a two to three second blast usually all it takes.

the only thing I could think of causing the weak spark is the spark plug wire at the plug connections maybe you down to a couple of strains of wire or you broke them some more removing the plug wire. You could do a resistances check if you have a multimeter, but it you don't know what a good wire resistances then testing the old wire is in most cases useless.

Canguy is right - prime with mix, not straight gas or starting fluid or carb cleaner. Fairly common practice, including saws worked over and without choke plates.

I usually don't want to argue over procedures cause we all have our opinion on things.

FYI, they now make Small Gas Engines (SGE) tune up (carb. cleaner in the small gas engine section of any big store) in a can for two and 4 stroke engines (IMO same a carb cleaner, but being the made it specially for SGE). This was a fairly common practice to spray Carb. Cleaner into a running engine to ungum (hence the name GUMOUT) for about/over 50 years. Now you can get it specially for your two stroke in a smaller can and of course pay more for the special formula.

I don't like using gas cause I don't have a special bottle to induce a small enough amount with out flooding the engine or pouring it down all over the engine and elect system. Plus, not to mention the fire hazzard with gas all over my equipment.

I suspose you could use a bottle cap or squeeze bottle or something creative. I just keep it simple and use the can with pressure in it and a fluid that will rapidly evaporate and Cause NO damage to the engine or hinder it's preformance.

I sorry IMO using raw gas as priming fluid is just plain dangerous. If I did use it (cause i'm out of carb. cleaner) I would want to be outdoors and be able regulate a small amount into the carb. (I read where houses and garages have been burnt down with people fooling with gas inside them) IMO I also think engines has a high chance of backfiring using gas (due to the excess amount) as primer fluid and catching the engine on fire, but that's me.

A simple way to get gas into the engine is with a medicine syringes (they are generally 2-5cc). Anyone with young kids nowadays likely has them around. My wife says they come with childrens Motrin. Your pharmacy may have them for free. The medicine droppers would work too. Small and accurate.
