Your sofa is looking good but it would be better if you can go for lighter tones like beige or cream with this rug. Your cushions are just perfect to match along with that too. Currently you are using teal as a pop up colour and you can also go with yellow or coral for the same for curtains as well .

I have to tell you I really like what you have done here. You just need to do a little tweaking. That you have run the gambit of brown, tan, beige, etc. with your sofa, windows, tables, etc., for you to bring in a crisp gray and white rug is very enterprising. First thing is to find a piece of art for over your sofa that plays with your browns, gray and white with shots of whatever accent colors you wish. So yes, it could be coral, yellow, teal or whatever you like. Since your floors are a light wood, bringing in more of the brown, you might want to experiment with some gray hues for your walls. Doesn't have to be dark, but your gray needs to come from the same family as the gray in your carpet. I would leave the throw pillows for last until you get your paint settled. You will most likely find that you won't have to do a blend of colors (such as you have shown) to make it all work. I would find the artwork first and begin pulling my colors from there. Every room needs an inspiration piece, so that is the most likely place for you to begin. Don't second guess yourself. Be gutsy and stick with it. You are doing a GREAT job!

I am a 20-somthing year old just getting into this grown-up world so finding things that fit in my small budget are a must! I love bright colors , my fiance not so much which is why I played it so safe. Karen, I was planning to do a gallery wally behind the sofa with different fabrics..does that count as art work? lol

Hi, Akemya. I think your choices look great together! But because the rug and sofa are dark I would consider a lighter coffee table. Perhaps one of these tables from West Elm would appeal to you.
