I've just had a problem with the engine stop diodes in Honda powered Hustler

ZTR, quickly found an isolated the problem, 1 of the diodes is apparently

shorted to ground, so it only runs on 1 cyl when started... Disconnected the

damn thing and went about my mowing... The fuel shut-off solenoid on the

carb shuts it off in about 5 seconds anyway... Thought I'd just get a new

diode block, install it, end of problem... Then I found out they want $40-$50

for this thing, WHOA, the engine electrical schematic shows that this thing

is nothing more than a pair of isolation diodes for the primarys of the 2

magnetos... I'm thinking a pair 3 amp 200 + piv diodes would handle this

job easily, and cost less than a buc, and take 15 mins to install... Anybody

got any experience with this, know any reason why this wouldn't work ???
