Spring-time in PA.!

Ohh, yes, i just love Spring-time, in Western PA!

On Friday, a man stopped and asked if i take old lawn tractors, so, being that i am always seeking parts and engines, i told him yes, so we went to his house, and loaded up a really nice Silver series of Craftsman lawn tractor, and we shook hands. I then brought it home, unloaded it, and mowed all of my grass with it.UMMM!

So, today, whilst cleaning out the garage, a couple came down the driveway, and asked me if i take old lawn tractors! Of course, i said yes, so we went back to their place, and loaded up the Dark Gray series of Craftsman lawn tractor. Brought it home, unloaded it, and mowed the back yard with it! A standard 6-speed. UMMMM!

Now, the lady who will be riding the new Craftsman they just bought, with the Transmission that groans after 5-6 years of normal use, weighs close to 300 lbs! And, their yard is hilly! UMMMM. And, she will be the principal operator of it! UMMM!

Rusty: Yeah I have neighbors like that, but instead of giving them away the dealer does them the favor of taking them off their hands.

Yes, and then the dealer sells them and makes money from the sale! Isn't that the American way???
Heck, i'm not a dealer, just an old WW II Veteran trying to keep the wolf away from the door! I make my beer money, and my bluegrass music weekend going away money by fixing tractors and mowers!

I had 3 lawnboys given to me lately. All work. I know the guys on here don't like to see them parted out, but I think I'm going to put them on ebay as parts.

Who would ever have thought that I'd need a front wheel transmission for a sears push mower, but I did, and I found a total of ONE on ebay for $25.

Rusty I live in Yuppville "I'll just go out and buy a new one", scored three tractors this week, all needed very minor repairs.
