my storm 5524 seem to be in auto drive mode it wants to pull all the time . You can get it shift sometimes other tims you have to turn it off to shift.

Anybody know what might be wrong?

Can you tell me how to fix it?

We need a lot more information on your machine! What is it: Tractor?-riding mower?-rear engine rider?-self propelled walk behind?
That will be a start. Then we can figure out a fix for you.

Looks to be one of them snow moving machines.
Does the hand control tighten the belt and the tension is too tight or improper belt? If not, I would pull the cover to determine what is binding the friction disc / plate at times . Funky adjustment, broken counter spring, bolt dropped out etc. Has anyone done repair on this unit before? I seem to have forgotten MTD snow thrower innards. . .
Model # from the ID tag on the back may help remind me.
