I composted a MAJOR FAILURE in making chocolate-based Christmas candy. In a matter of 4 months, it had disappeared into the compost.

I could never bring myself to throw away chocolate.

You know, if you plug your nose, you can eat almost anything.

That's one thing my pile will never see. Heck, my kids are lucky to get any! ;)

Chocolate comes from Cocoa which grows on a tree as a bean and beans are vegetables and your mother told you when you were growing up to eat your beans. So chocolate is good for you and you should eat it, unless you find it in the trash in which case you can compost it even though it is loaded with butterfat. I think I would put fairly small quantities in at any one time rather than load the mix with a lot at one time.

Taking all those foil wrappers off is going to be the big hassle. But it will compost fine. Sugar, fat, cocoa -> compost.
